Last October, consultancy group and event organiser CRU, along with YOFC, ran the inaugural APAC Optical Fibre and Cable conference in Wuhan, China, which attracted over 400 attendees and had the participation of all the major Chinese optical cable manufacturers (such as YOFC, FiberHome, Futong, Hengtong, ZTT) and major Chinese communications figures (such as China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom and CATV).
This year, we are returning to Wuhan and extending the scope of the conference to be global. Under the new name of CRU’s 2nd World Optical Fibre & Cable Conference 2016, the event in November will again be hosted by YOFC. This conference provides important annual meeting for professional peers, and its market analysis helps shape future strategy for organisations involved in the global optical fibre and cable industry.
We are delighted to be working with the major Chinese producers again this year but are also including increasing numbers of international FO cable producers and consumers (such as Sterlite, Corning, Prysmian, NTT) and international experts in telecoms consumption trends. We expect over 600 attendees from across the international FO supply chain and telecom industry.
As 60% of the optical cable to be produced worldwide will be produced in China, and as Wuhan is the centre of this industry and known as China’s “Fibre Optics Valley”, it is the perfect place to visit and truly understand this booming industry. It is an opportunity to hear directly from the industry leaders and to network with the hard-to reach influencers of the sector.
In addition to market strategies, the programme covers the latest technological advancements in optical fibre and cable design and production, with presentations from leading innovators from around the world including Shin-Etsu, DSM, Photon Kinetics, j-fibre and Heraeus. This will be complimented by a lively exhibition of over 30 stands where visitors can see first-hand how next-generation technologies are moving the sector forward.
The World Fibre Optical & Cable Conference 2016 will be held 2-4 November in Wuhan, China.
