“State key Laboratory of Optical Fiber and Cable Manufacture Technology” (OFCMT) is instituted based on Yangtze Optical Fiber and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company. Opening, Mobilizing, Union and Competition are the principle of our lab. Promoting the basic study and the application research of optical fiber and cable, attracting excellent scientific and technological talents to cooperate and carrying out the pioneering research, OFCMT institutes “OFCMT Open Projects Foundation”, which involve optical fiber technology, optical cable technology, equipment technology, optical fiber application technology, testing technology, related some cutting-edge technology, and so on.

The OFCMT Open Projects Foundation in 2020 has begun. Welcome the scientific research personnel to apply. Here are the announcements:

1. Main funding direction

According to the research direction and objects, the primary activity is support of the follow subjects:

a) Optical fiber technology research: Design, development of new or special optical fibers and new preparation processes; research and application of key raw materials for special optical fibers;

b) New or special optical cable technology research: New or special optical cable product design and application technology, submarine cable and application technology, marine communication network planning and design;

c) Intelligent manufacturing technology research: New generation of optical fiber preform, optical fiber, optical cable intelligent manufacturing equipment key technology, online monitoring or control technology; energy-saving and environmentally friendly preparation technology or key equipment technology; industrial Internet technology and application development;

d) Optical fiber application technology research: Optical fiber application technology or device and system development for communications, sensing and other fields; new material development and technology research for optical fiber applications; application technology research for optical fiber sensing;

e) Testing technology research: Research on new or special optical fiber and cable and application detection technology, key test equipment scheme and weak signal detection technology;

f) Frontier technology research: Basic research on new materials or pre-research on applied technology; application evaluation and reliability verification of new device systems; research on 5G high frequency wireless communication technology.

2. Requirements

The grantee at least meet one of the following requirements:

• Domestic and foreign science and technology workers who are engaged in the research of optical fiber and cable materials, preparation, equipment, application or testing technology with medium or high professional technical titles.
• Doctor degree, intermediate and above professional and technical titles.
• Domestic and foreign excellent research teams or individuals recommended by 3 or more academic members and engaged in the laboratory direction.
• Researchers who have own subjects and money carry out scientific research by using the laboratory's equipment and funds.
• According to the research direction, the applicant need to complete < The application form of 2018 open subjects fund of OFCMT> (See Annex 1 for details.) in duplicate( print in both sides of A4 paper) .
• The applicant must cooperate with a researcher from the state key laboratory who has a similar research direction.
• The grantee should sign relevant agreements and contracts, submit the work progress report at the end of each year, and submit the project summary report at the end of the project.

3. The research results are shared by the laboratory and the institution of the researcher, and are signed as follows:

• State Key Laboratory of Optical Fiber and Cable Manufacture Technology (YOFC)
• This research was supported by the Open Projects Foundation (No. xxx) of State Key Laboratory of Optical Fiber and Cable Manufacture Technology (YOFC).
