YOFC Successfully Holds New Product Launch Conference: "Light up A New Future of Transmission"

On September 11, during the CIOE 2024, Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (YOFC, stock code: 601869.SH, 06869.HK) held a new product launch conference in Shenzhen under the theme "Light up A New Future of Transmission". More than 100 guests attended the conference, including Zheng Xin, Vice President of YOFC, and Luo Jie, Technical Director of YOFC, along with industry experts, strategic partners from all over the country, industry customers, and media members.

 

Zheng Xin delivered a speech emphasizing that optical communication, as the cornerstone of information transmission, is driving digital transformation and intelligent upgrades at an unprecedented pace. As the world's leading enterprise in the R&D, innovation, and manufacturing of fibre preforms, optical fibres, optical cables, and data communication-related products, YOFC has been dedicated to making breakthroughs in optical fibre technology and product innovation since its inception. It is committed to connecting the world with optical fibres, empowering customers across industries with more efficient, stable, high-quality, and intelligent optical transmission solutions.

 

Several leaders jointly unveiled the new product, including Zheng Xin, Luo Jie, Yuan Hongming, Deputy General Manager of the Materials Business Unit of YOFC, Xiao Jun, Executive Vice President of the Data Center Planning and Design Institute of Zhubo Design Co., Ltd., and Yang Junzhi, Business Director of China Design Group Co., Ltd. YOFC's MaxBand® OM4 Pro/Ultra series multi-mode fibre is an upgraded version of the original OM4 products, offering new fibre solutions for more efficient data center transmission in the AI era.

 

Luo Jie, Technical Director of YOFC, and Feng Yu, Founder and CEO of Viestar, jointly unveiled the new product. YOFC, in collaboration with Viestar, spearheaded the launch of the new product—imaging optical fibre. This innovation fills a domestic gap and significantly advances the localization of optical fibre endoscopes. It not only ensures the integrity of the supply chain for medical system equipment but also greatly reduces medical diagnostic costs for patients.

 

 

To better promote the implementation of the National Key R&D Programs during the 14th Five-Year Plan period developed by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China and the key special program "Medical Equipment and Biomedical Materials", YOFC and Viestar have collaborated to establish a medical imaging optical fibre joint laboratory. This partnership aims to integrate the technological strengths of both parties to accelerate the innovative application of fibre communication technology in the medical field, thereby taking the development of confocal laser endomicroscopy to new heights.

 

 

Xiao Jun delivered a speech titled "Development Trends of Data Centers in the Digital and Intelligent Era". He emphasized that multi-mode fibre can support a transmission rate of 400G, and is evolving towards 800G and 1.6T. It will continue to evolve toward longer wavelengths in the future.

 

Wu Jun, Product BD Manager of the Materials Business Unit at YOFC, introduced YOFC's new multi-mode fibre. The widespread application of AI technology is propelling data centers towards more efficient computing. YOFC has consistently upgraded its multi-mode fibre offerings, presenting a fresh fibre portfolio tailored for the green and low-carbon development of large-scale data centers in the AI era. In doing so, we aim to drive data centers towards a more efficient and environmentally friendly future.

 

Zhang Lei, Manager of the Advanced Research Department at YOFC, introduced YOFC's imaging optical fibre. Imaging optical fibre, the core functional component of optical fibre endoscope probes, has heavily depended on imports. Leveraging its technological strengths, YOFC, in collaboration with Viestar, has proudly taken the lead in developing this product independently throughout the process. Through a collaborative model integrating industry, academia, research, medical practice, and inspection, we've successfully transformed this innovation from lab prototype to a fully-fledged commercial product. 

 

Zhang Bin, Chief Scientific Officer of Viestar, delivered a speech titled "The Application of Medical Imaging Optical Fibre in Confocal Laser Endomicroscopy". He emphasized that the innovative application of imaging optical fibre has not only pushed the boundary of confocal laser endomicroscopy but also revolutionized clinical diagnosis and treatment. Viestar will collaborate with YOFC to drive forward  technological iteration, with a keen focus on translating these achievements into tangible industrial outcomes.

 

Zhao Qiu, Director of the Department of Gastroenterology and the Center for Digestive Endoscopy at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, delivered a speech titled "The R&D and Clinical Application of Domestic Confocal Laser Endomicroscopy". He provided a detailed introduction to domestic confocal laser endomicroscopy and its value in clinical applications. Zhao emphasized relentless pursuit of innovation of confocal laser endomicroscopy that will propel this technology into broader disease landscapes.  This will help improve the diagnosis rate, optimize the diagnosis and treatment process, and enhance medical technology in China.

 

Hou Gang, Deputy Director of the Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital, delivered a speech titled "Progress in the Application of Confocal Laser Endomicroscopy in Respiratory Diseases". He provided an in-depth analysis of how confocal laser endomicroscopy has greatly improved the diagnostic accuracy and treatment efficiency for related diseases in clinical settings. Hou called for industry peers to continually advance the clinical application and transformation of new technologies to benefit more patients.
