YOFC takes social accountability management as an integral part of daily operations, through which YOFC constantly improves the social accountability behaviors, observes laws and disciplines, and maximizes improvement of staff working conditions and provision of staff welfare. And meanwhile YOFC imposes influence of social accountability on suppliers and subcontractors, thereby improving the social accountability performances of entire supply and industrial chain.
As a leader in China's optical fibre and cable industry, our strenuous efforts promoting the industry development are evidenced by our involvement in the formulation and revision of international industry standards, our initiative in signing Convention on Quality Self-Regulation of the Optical Fibre and Cable Industry, and our role in the introduction of global platforms to China for industrial exchange, such as the World Optical Fibre and Cable Conference.
Since 2001, for 17 consecutive years, the "YOFC Scholarship" program has supported outstanding students at ten universities: Peking University, Tsinghua University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications, Chongqing University of Post and Telecommunications, Zhejiang University, Jilin University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Wuhan University of Technology.
In the wake of disasters such as major rainstorms and earthquakes, YOFC is committed to assisting operators in restoring communications in afflicted areas through provision of optical cable materials or funding.
In the early morning of August 10, 2019, the super typhoon "Lekima" in the Northwest Pacific was engulfing China with violent storms. According to the statistics from the Information and Communication Administration under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the P.R.C., 4,835 base stations retired, 11,430 poles collapsed, and 3,828 km of optical cables damaged in Zhejiang, Shandong and Liaoning provinces. The communication sector organized forces for urgent recovery. YOFC paid close attention to the disaster event, and immediately launched the emergency mechanism for supplying optical cables to help the carriers recover the communication in the disaster areas in time.
At the end of June 2016, when a serious hailstorm struck Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, YOFC immediately initiated its disaster relief emergency mechanism, providing optical cables. In early July 2016, following rainstorms that seriously affected much of southern China, including Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan provinces, YOFC was quick to provide optical cables to the still struggling flooded area. Through 36 hours of intense production efforts, YOFC helped to ensure rapid resumption of communications in the stricken areas.
