Properties
  • The product appears as a colorless or light yellow fuming liquid with a pungent odor and a tendency to deliquesce.
  • Appearance: colorless transparent fuming liquid. It has an unpleasant asphyxiating odor, and is miscible with benzene, ether, chloroform, petroleum ether, carbon tetrachloride, tin tetrachloride, titanium tetrachloride, sulfur monochloride, and sulfur dichloride in all proportions.

  • Application: The high-purity silicon tetrachloride product is available in four grades: OVD, VAD, PCVD, and electronic grade. OVD, VAD, and PCVD grades are used for manufacturing the cladding and core of optical fibre preforms, while electronic-grade silicon tetrachloride is used for semiconductor epitaxial silicon wafers.
