Overview
Submarine optical cables are at the heart of global undersea communication. They come into two series: the unrepeatered/repeatered cables. Unrepeatered cables are ideal for offshore and short-distance communication systems, used for communication and data transmission across oceans, rivers, between continents and islands, islands and islands, and among offshore operation equipment. They are characterized by high transmission capacity and low loss. Repeatered submarine optical cable communication systems, which include one or more repeaters, are suitable for ultra-long distance, high-speed transoceanic communication systems, featuring large transmission capacity and long uninterrupted lengths.
Deep-Sea Links for Global Communications
YOFC provides five basic cable types, adaptable to different water depths and application requirements, including lightweight (LW) cables, lightweight protected (LWP) cables, single armored (SA) cables, etc., ensuring communication coverage from shallow to deep seas.
  • LW cable (water depth of 2,000–8,000m)
  • LWP cable (water depth of 2,000–5,000m)
  • Single armoured lightweight (SAL) cable (water depth of 600–2,000m)
  • SA cable (water depth of 500–2,000m)
  • Double armoured (DA) (water depth of 0–500m)
YOFC's submarine optical cables are widely used in key fields, such as transoceanic communication, submarine observation networks, submarine monitoring, river and lake crossings, installations along tunnels and pipelines, and offshore wind farms.
Advanced Production Capability

At present, YOFC's submarine optical cable product center has 26 sets of main production equipment imported from Germany, Switzerland, Finland, and other European countries. It boasts a series of advanced submarine optical cable manufacturing equipment, including the laser welding pipeline production lines, argon arc welding pipeline production lines, inner and outer armored cage-type stranding machines, and insulating sheath extruding machines. The annual output of various types of submarine optical cables reaches 6,000km, which can realize the continuous, large-length, and stable production of this category.

The highest fibre count of a single submarine optical cable can reach 144, which ensures stable single-section production with a maximum length of 100km.

YOFC's five types of submarine fiber-optic cables have received 13 full series certification certificates each from international authorities UJ and UQJ. Over the past three years, YOFC's submarine optical cable business has spread all over Turkey, the United States, Canada, and other countries, with a total of more than 2,000 km of such cables delivered. In the future, YOFC's submarine optical cables are poised to thrive in harsh undersea environments and safeguard the integrity of customers' transmission networks by virtue of their excellent mechanical performance, reliable optical stability, and excellent bending resistance.
