Lab Profile
The laboratory is focused on meeting national strategic demands and developing the optic fibre and cable industry.
In December 2010, the State Key Laboratory for Optical Fibre and Cable Manufacture Technology was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The evaluation was completed by the Ministry of Science and Technology in July 2013. In 2018, SKLOFCMT was rated as an "excellent state key laboratory" and was ranked as the first in the field of information. The principles of our laboratory are "Opening, Mobilizing, Union and Competition."
Basic Conditions
It is mainly engaged in the fundamental and application research of optical fibre and preform, special optical fibre, optical cable and their manufacturing equipment.
It includes optical fibre technology lab, optical cable technology lab, equipment technology lab, optical fibre application technology lab, test center and technology management department. We have optical fibre, optical cable, special optical fibre and cable testing platform, the test center has passed the CNAS recognition and Telcordia recognition.

In the last 5 years, we have undertaken more than 40 national Scientific research projects.
We have applied over 880 pieces of invention patents, and applied over 50 pieces of PCT international patents and published nearly 470 academic papers. We have won many honors, such as National Key New Products, the second prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress and the first prize of Hubei Province Scientific and Technological Progress. We have postdoctoral workstation, 3551 talent plan, engineering laboratory, Hubei science and technology association, academician workstation.
