2016 ICQCC International Convention on Quality Control Circles was held in Bangkok, Thailand from August 23th to August 26th. The northern star QC team of the fibre department of the manufacturing center of Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (stock code: 6869.HK, hereinafter referred to as "Yangtze Company") attended the meeting with the subject of "Reducing Scrap Rate due to Scratches of Fibre". After intense competition, it won the golden prize, the top prize of the conference. Up till now, Yangtze Company has won three successive championships for this award.

During the conference, the QC delegation of Yangtze Company introduced results of the subject of the team. The judges agreed that the QC team of Yangtze Company clearly and logically introduced how to find key reasons and the process of improvement. They especially praised members of the team for using collective wisdom and QC programs, innovative test tools and automatic control design methods.

This award is another honor of Yangtze Company after winning two international quality awards in May: ISLQ——International Star for Leadership in Quality for the year and The Bizz Europe——Peak of Success for the year. Yangtze Company has always put emphasis on quality management. It carried out "Yangtze Quality Year" and "Quality Knowledge Contest" and other activities. The company fully uses QC team activities as a measure to improve quality of products, innovation ability and professional skill of employees. The activities were carried out using the concept and method of quality management, with emphasis on the enterprise's business strategy, guideline, target and problems existing in the production facilities, in order to improve quality, reduce consumption, improve quality of employees and economical benefit.

About 1,500 persons from 311 teams attended 2016 ICQCC International Convention on Quality Control Circles. They came from 12 countries such as Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, India, and Indonesia.The theme of the conference was "Enhancing Performance of Manpower and Organizations". The conference comprised 14 venues, where achievements publication, publication of materials of achievements, and Q&A phases were carried out.
