On March 26th afternoon (Pacific time), in the fortieth session of the Optical Fibre Communication Conference & Exposition and the National Fibre Optic Engineers Conference (OFC), Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (YOFC) released the latest R & D successful FullBand ® Ultra G.652 fibre and FarBand ® Ultra G.654 fibre. The two novel fibre are made by YOFC pure silica core technology and depressed cladding technology, with ultra low attenuation and bend insensitive performance.

Ultra low attenuation, low bending losses and large effective area are the main development trend of single-mode fibre at present. YOFC’s two new fibre products lead the trend, and provide fibre solution for present net and the future of 400Gb/s and above in optical fibre communication network. YOFC, which has become the first domestic enterprise that can master ultra low attenuation optical fibre technology, entered the ranks of global leader in optical fibre technology.

Optical fibre communication system and the transmission distance is limited to OSNR. Yet, in compared with common single mode fibre, FullBand ® Ultra G.652 fibre and FarBand ® Ultra G.654 fibre with ultra low attenuation can effectively improve the indicators. Meanwhile, FarBand ® Ultra G.654, which has low attenuation and large effective area, is better. Therefore, the timely release of these two fibre optic products will solve the problems of developing high-speed optical network and reduce construction and operation cost of the network.
