At 21:19 on August 8 Beijing time, a 7-magnitude earthquake hit Jiuzhaigou of Sichuan Province. The earthquake happened at a depth of 20 km and caused damages to the trunk line of telecommunications. Part of the local communication was interrupted.

Earthquake relief, YOFC is in action! After hearing the earthquake news, Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (here in after referred to as "YOFC", stock code: HK6869) first contacted the local three telecom-operators and showed our full supports to help them rebuild the disaster areas. We also showed our will of ensuring the communication within the disaster areas. At the same time, the Company immediately launched a disaster relief plan, even under the current shortage of fibre and cable capacity. Meanwhile, YOFC have actively allocated resources for Sichuan Mobile's trunk line repairment. The first batch of disaster relief cable is now in overnight production and will be sent to the disaster areas once ready.
