The 11th China Optical Communication
Development and Competitiveness Forum and the awarding ceremony of “2017 Top
Ten Optical Communication Enterprises of the World & China”, co-organized
by China Communications Association Optical Communication Committee and
Asia-Pacific Optical Communications Committee, held successfully in Beijing on
16th November. Depending on its powerful strength, Yangtze Optical
Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (Hereinafter referred to as “YOFC”
or “the company”, stock code: 6869.HK) earned four honourable awards on the
conference, including No.1 among “Top Ten Competitive Optical Fibre and

attended the forum and accepted the awards on behalf of the company. Achieving

Themed by “Enter the era of 5G, Accelerate Internet
Revolution”, the forum explored and discussed technologies, products and
marketing directions of China optical communication industry under guidance of
trends covering 5G, big data and IOT. Leading experts of optical communication
industries including Wei Leping, Executive Deputy Director of Science and
Technology Commission of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Zhang
Chengliang, Vice President of China Telecom Beijing Research Institute and Ao
Li, Vice President of Institute of Standards and Technology of China Academy of
Information and Communications Technology, delivered speech respectively from
multiple aspects on opportunities and challenges brought by 5G to the optical
communication, development of optical network based on increased traffic and
how optical communication help to develop broadband.
Mr. Mao qian, professional committee of Science
and Technology Commission of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology,
Chairman of Asia-Pacific Optical Communication Committee as well as
Editor-in-chief of the “Journal of Communications and Networks”, summarize the
whole selecting activity of Top Ten Competitive Optical Communication
Enterprises of the World| China”. According to him, countries around the world
are playing active roles in 5G network layout, showing huge developing space of
the global optical communication market. He also forecast a steady growth of
national fibre and cable industry for the next two quarters given rapid demand
growth of the fibre and cable markets.
Yan changkun, the Vice President of YOFC,
delivered a keynote speech entitled as “Leading Innovation & Focusing on
Quality: Boost Healthy Development of Global Fibre and Cable Industries” on the
seminar of the conference. He introduced the birth of YOFC because of great
development of China’s Communications field, shared its history of leading and
promoting national optical fibre industry, analyzed good developing orientation
of the global fibre and cable market and expressed wishes of YOFC to cooperate
with professionals from all aspects of the industry, make mutual innovations
and improve overall quality for leading and promoting healthy global fibre and
cable development in the foreseeable future.
The highlight of this conference was the
“Roundtable Forum” conducted by Yan Changkun, the Vice President of YOFC, where
in-depth discussions were taken up and different opinions were shared on
problems such as how to speed up increasing the “soft power” of China optical
communication enterprises and how could China optical communication enterprises
meet the challenges of global competition while actively conducting global
branding at the same time. Participants attending the forum include Wang
Libiao, Vice President of Huawei Transport Network Product Line, Zhu Weiquan,
Vice President of Hengtong Group, Huawen, Director and Executive President of
Futong Group, Zhang Siyuan, Vice President of Nokia IP & Optical Network
Business and Yang qi, Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory for Fibre
Optical Communication Technology and Network in Wuhan Research Institute.
Having been held 11 times successfully since 2006, the ODC forum has become widely acknowledged by the industry colleagues and peer companies. The successful opening-up of this forum help to promote sectors from the optical communication to interact with each other by facilitating discussion and communication of the participants, and guide the enterprises to meet their challenges and opportunities by strengthening the understanding of the enterprises on global and domestic optical communication developing status quo and trends.
