“YOFC Peru S.A.C immediately purchased face masks in quantity and sent them to China after we learnt the outbreak of COVID-19. We hoped to offer help in difficult times" , said Wang Wei, general manager of YOFC Peru Subsidiary. On one hand, as masks were hard to come by in Peru, Mr.Zou Feng, deputy general manager of YOFC Peru along with the staff worked hard to figure out many sources. On the other hand, YOFC Peru had to work out the logistics as fewer flights were available to China as a result of the pandemic. Against all the odds, 40,400 N95 masks finally made their way to Shanghai Pudong airport on Feb. 2020 to support the response to COVID-19 in China.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, YOFC overseas subsidiaries had been closely following what’s going on in China and quickly made supplies ready after learning China was running short of PPE such as masks. Yangtze Optics Africa Cable Proprietary Limited looked for different sources and finally secured 22 cases of masks in two weeks, which were delivered to Chinese Chamber of Commerce for donation on Feb 14, 2020.
YOFC International (Philippines) Corporation donated 16 cases of N95 masks to Hubei Charity Federation through the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Philippines, which arrived at the Union Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology on February 6 to ease the shortage. .
“Together we stand, my armors thine” (quoted a line from an ancient Chinese poem). No one can stand by and watch no matter where you are when we are beating the virus. Now we are still exposed to a grim situation and in a critical stage of the battle. YOFC will act on the guidance of governments at all levels on how to prevent and control the spread of virus without compromise till the victory is secured.
